What should you do when pulled over for DUI?

First and foremost be courteous to the officer and do not reach for your registration and insurance until you are asked for them.  Why?  Simple, you could get shot. Many officers lose their lives during traffic stops and they are trained to watch for movements on your part indicating that you might be reaching for a weapon.

Second, be quiet and make sure the officer knows you want to remain silent.

Third, refuse any field sobriety tests.

Finally, call your lawyer before taking  any breath test.

I realize these may run contrary to what many of you have been told to do but they are improtant to your defense.
